AI4Youth Media is a European cooperation project implemented within the Erasmus+ Programme under the KA220-YOU action. The project focuses on the use of artificial intelligence in media and youth work, aiming to strengthen digital competences among young people and youth workers.
The project brings together media and youth organisations from different European countries to develop practical learning experiences that combine artificial intelligence tools with media production activities.
BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT
Artificial intelligence is increasingly shaping media creation, communication and information access. While these developments create new opportunities, they also raise challenges related to ethics, inclusion and digital skills. Many young people and youth workers lack access to structured learning
opportunities that address both the practical use of artificial intelligence and its ethical implications. AI4Youth Media responds to this need by providing accessible, practice-oriented learning pathways.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES
- Improve artificial intelligence literacy among young people and youth workers
- Support responsible and ethical use of AI in media practices
- Encourage innovative and creative media production
- Strengthen digital competences relevant to youth work and employability
TARGET GROUPS
Young People
Young people aged 18–30 interested in media, digital technologies and artificial intelligence, including those with fewer opportunities in accessing advanced digital skills training.
Youth Workers
Youth workers, trainers and educators aiming to enhance their understanding of artificial intelligence and integrate digital tools into youth work and educational activities.
PROJECT APPROACH
The project follows a practical and learner-centred approach. Activities are designed to support hands-on learning through media production tasks, while artificial intelligence tools are introduced in an accessible manner. Ethical considerations such as transparency, fairness and data protection are integrated throughout all learning processes.
EUROPEAN COOPERATION
Through transnational cooperation, AI4Youth Media enables the exchange of knowledge and good practices between organisations from different European contexts. This collaboration contributes to a shared understanding of artificial intelligence and its responsible use in media and youth work across Europe.
